European Mile Norway 23.06.2021

Where Norway
When 23.06.2021

The Norwegian European Mile will take place in Viken County and include activity in Sports Clubs, but also other cultural and activity organizations. More than 20 sports councils help coordinate activity in numerous Sports Clubs and Culture organizations participating in #FindYourMile during weeks 39 and 40. We also collaborate with nature and hiking organizations. So whether you want to walk, run, play football, hike, or play music – you can #FindYourMile!

Numerous events will be organized simultaneously throughout the region in collaboration with local associations and communities to promote health-enhancing physical activity.

European Mile and #FindYourMile also cooperate with The Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society. During September they promote «Run for me», where one can #donateyourmile towards research on children's cancer. So, you are not only running for yourself, but you are also running for someone that cannot participate themself.

On the 23rd of June, we will be streaming our opening kickoff-event, and the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Minister of Culture and Equality, Abid Raja will participate, signaling the importance of reopening and restarting physical activity.

Partners and activities will be presented on the net site pandefri.no

WHAT IS THE IDEA BEHIND EUROPEAN MILE?

The EUROPEAN MILE is one of our brand new events, that we are organising, as an official European Week of Sport event. The concept of the EUROPEAN MILE is designed to build a bridge between ISCA and European Week of Sport. It will focus on using public streets for citizens’ activities and mobility, and thus celebrate both the heathy and environmentally friendly modes of transport, and the broader benefits of physical activity. In addition, EUROPEAN MILE is part of the year-round ISCA campaign NowWeMOVE, which has the vision of getting 100 million more Europeans active in sport or physical activity by 2020.
